Abstract [eng] Applying the two-phase coolants, such as aqueous foam, in practice could significantly reduce material and energy demands, simultaneously sustaining the proper heat transfer intensity. Moreover, the two-phase foam coolant has additional possibility for control of the intensity of heat transfer by changing volumetric void fraction of the foam. Such advantages of aqueous foam give a chance to design a compact, light, safe and economic heat exchanger. The results of an experimental investigation of heat transfer between “non-standard” tube bundle and vertically upward and downward after 180 degree turning foam flow are presented and discussed in this paper.
