Abstract [eng] This research examines the regionalisation of the Baltic through historically constituted material spatial systems in two territories with divergent historical trajectories: Scania (Sweden) and the coastal zone of Klaipėda (Lithuania), for three reference periods (1915, 1975, and 2025). The study is based on an analysis of changes in road networks, built-up areas, as well as land use and land cover patterns. Drawing on historical maps and contemporary geospatial data, the research develops a multi-scalar and multi-temporal spatial modelling framework to identify continuities and transformations in spatial systems. The results reveal the existence of recurrent structures in both territories and highlight three major phases of transformation: agricultural intensification in the early twentieth century, urbanisation and agro-industrial restructuring between 1945 and 1990, and coastal metropolisation alongside territorial reconfigurations driven by territorial planning. The research demonstrates that spatial structures provide valuable indicators of long-term territorial dynamics, revealing comparable organisational logics shaped by distinct local historical legacies. This approach contributes to the renewal of regional geographical studies by integrating the socio-cultural dimensions of territories.
