Abstract [eng] Catalytic activity for acetate vapour (methyl acetate, ethyl acetate, 1-propyl acetate and 1-butyl acetate) of sandwich type adsorbent-catalyst CuO / NaX was investigated. Experiment was carried out in a fixed-bed reactor in the 130–310 ºC temperature range. The influence of adsorption for all acetates was observed up to 180 ºC. The temperature of complete oxidation (to up CO2 and water vapour) was dependent on the molecular mass of the acetates: it decreased from 280 ºC for 1- butyl acetate to 230 ºC for methyl acetate. In addition, some byproducts (ethanol, diethyl ether and 1-propanol) were found in the stream during the oxidation of ethyl acetate and 1-propyl acetate.
