Abstract [eng] In today‘s education, technology is increasingly being integrated to enhance the learning experience, but traditional learning tools alone are not enough to encourage modern students‘ active participation in the learning process. A problem arises: the insufficient effectiveness of students’ independent learning due to the inadequate use of interactivity and videos. The aim of this work is to improve the effectiveness of students’ independent learning by applying interactive educational videos developed according to a methodology designed for their creation and application. To address this problem, the study analyses the need for interactive content in higher education institutions, its impact on the learning process, methods for the creation and application of interactive educational videos, and the tools used for their creation. The design section presents a methodology for the creation and application of interactive educational videos, which defines requirements for creation tools, the stages of educational video creation, and methods for integrating interactivity. The interactive educational videos created during this project were integrated into a learning environment based on branching scenarios. To determine the effectiveness of the developed product for self-directed learning, a survey was conducted. Based on the results, it was found that interactive content in this format is beneficial for more effective self-directed learning.
