The phenomenon of stress relaxation during trans-formation plasticity of hardened steel at tempering is ob-served, when an article of hardened steel is impressed by an external force during tempering and the unusually great plastic deformation is obtained. Series of experiments were made for the investigation of transformation plasticity of carbon steel with various content of carbon (0.45%, 0.65% and 0.85%) and the subject of application of transforma-tion plasticity was discussed. |
