Abstract [eng] Two – step methane conversion is one of the most advanced hydrogen gas production methods. The main raw material of this process is natural gas. In master‘s thesis, calculations were made in order to reduce natural gas usage. According to calculations, usage of natural gas could be reduced by 2744 cubic meters per hour by using heat exchanger – utilizer for air heating which gets into primary reformer. Under normal conditions, heat exchanger produces water steam . Factory that is being reconstructed is located at Jonalaukis village, Jonava district. Size of the plot is 0,87 ha which is mostly contributed to methane conversion into hydrogen plant. As financial and economical evaluations were made, cash flows before and after reconstruction were determined. According to results, payback period of the project is 3 years. In addition, positive profitability ratios are determined as project are being analyzed by various methods. Two – step methane conversion evaluated from the environmental point of view. Referred to results, the most meaningful influence upon environment are done by gas emissions such as nitrogen oxydes which are being made by natural gas combustion. In order to reduce pollution, homogeneous purification appliance are foreknown. It converts hazardous oxydes into nitrogen gas. Occupational health and safety analysis were made taking into consideration : occupational risks, manufactoring safety, operational hygiene and fire safety. Manufactoring process uses hazardous materials so that there is information about its marginal variables and prevention tools.
