Abstract [eng] One of the main reasons why global warming happening is gas emissions. Most of the gas that is emitted into atmosphere is carbon dioxide. While human consumption increases, amount of CO2 that is expelled increase as well. Scientist are searching for new methods to stop and remove carbon dioxide from gasses released into atmosphere. Most widely used technology to remove CO2 from other gases is absorption using amines solutions. This paper examines activated N – methyldiethanolamine solution usage for carbon dioxide absorption. To increase absorption characteristics, we choose to add ethanolamine and potassium hydroxide. Focus of this study is equilibrium and kinetic parameters. Optimal additive concentration of potassium hydroxide is 5%. The highest absorption rate and biggest absorbent capacity measured at 40 – 50 °C temperature. From data points we derived equations for absorption rate and equilibrium loading at any given pressure. Results of this study was used to propose CO2 removal technology for biogas stream.
