Abstract [eng] |
St. John‘s Wort is a popular medicinal herb known for its antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, antioxidative and antimicrobial effect. This wide range of use is due to its large selection of secondary metabolites. To assure a constant and qualitative secondary metabolite synthesis, optimization of in vitro callus culture growth is necessary. The most efficient method for this is elicitation. Elicitors and plant growth hormones are used to quantify wanted primary and secondary metabolite concentrations in St. John‘s Wort. |
