| Abstract [eng] |
Due to current trends and prognosis it is thought that till 2050 a bit more than 70% of all the world‘s population will be living in cities if no measures are taken, as significant increasing in consumption is predicted. This means a high level of resource consumption which causes rising greenhouse gas emissions, water and soil pollution, the decrease of the most important natural resources as well as negative impact on ecosystems. Applying circular economy principles is one of the ways to control anthropogenic effect without harming economic development. The object of the research – Kaunas City and Aleksotas district. The aim – to explore the opportunities for applying circular economy principles in Kaunas. |
