Abstract [eng] Increased consumer interest and growing need for comfort features is driving big demand for the knitted fabrics. Clothing industry top priorities are comfort features and longevity. That is why knitted fabrics are characterised by particularly good comfort features and are easy to maintain. Knitted materials have many different characteristics that are determining the final feeling from this material. the product properties which human body feels. Many studies have been done on the structure of the knitted materials and its impact on the comfort and durability. A literature review dis-cusses about the fibre blends, different types of weave, mostly discussed rib, plain knit and double layer fabrics. In this study there are designed samples of 5 different weaves: plain jersey, rib 1+1, rib 2+2, double tuck and tuck stitch pattern. The aim of this work is to investigate and evaluate the influence of knitting structure on dimen-sional and mechanical properties and also to create a collection of knitted items for the cold season and to produce a prototype. The results of the research have proved that the knitted materials have elastic behaviour, espe-cially in the weft direction. The characteristics of extension of knitted materials are influenced by the yarn characteristics, the structure of the weave and the structural parameters of the knit. The structure of the material also played an important role in determining the air permeability. The greatest air-tightness was found in the double tuck and single tuck stitch knits. During the tests, abrasion resistance testing was performed to determine the durability of the material. The study examined mass loses, which has showed that the method of weave determines the durability of the material. Most likely, the worst weight loss had plain jersey and tuck stick pattern. By analysing models analogues and also at the same time being influenced by new fashion trends two prototypes has been created. The main idea behind the collection is \"The role of asymmetry in fashion.\" Asymmetry is being increasingly used in fashion, it allows art to expand almost endlessly. Asymmetry is seen as an extravagant fashion trend that has mostly allowed self-expression. Prototype of this creative collection is knitted with a Brother KH 881 knitting machine with an ribbing attachment KR 830. The product combines 5 different weaves: plain jersey, rib 1+1, rib 2+2, double tuck and tuck stitch pattern. These prototypes were designed to experiment and to create un-predictable forms. Asymmetry expressed in dynamics represent different forms of change in fashion.
