In this Thesis, the research aim is to analyse the variety of big data characteristics, their individual measurements and estimates, and to demonstrate how they can be used to analyse a data sample from a large business enterprise. The Literature Review Section defines big data, explains their importance and relevance, and describes the data characteristics, that will be evaluated with respect of the available data, such as volume, variety, veracity, velocity, and volatility, with the main focus of this Thesis placed on the latter characteristic. The Method Section of the Thesis gives an overview of the described characteristic computing/estimating methods. Furthermore, it reviews software used for big data computing in the Research Section. |
