Abstract [eng] |
The aim of the final master's thesis is to assess the potential of solar energy for charging electric vehicles for use at workplaces. The review part of the research includes information about the potential of solar energy, its radiation, the main characteristics of electric cars, the types of charging and their potential in Lithuania. The overview of the mathematical model outlines how mathematical calculations will be made of the type of charging stations. The project part of this paper contains work analysis about the most usable electric vehicles in Lithuania and the electric energy consumption for daily driving. Two types of solar power charging stations scenarios are considered - one where the electric vehicles have to be at workplace during working days with off – grid system and the second one tied – grid system. The solar plants made from solar modules can function as roof for parking. Solar energy production of solar plants has been calculated. The second part of the research project shows the economic evaluation and returns of the solar power plant. Economic estimates are calculated based on various economic methods. The first scenario sensitivity analysis is performed. The final part of the project includes the conclusions and all results of the investigation are compared. |
