Abstract [eng] The main objective of this work – test various methods to find delay between two signals, evaluate their advantages and disadvantages and propose a new algorithm which would allow to calculate the speed of passing vehicle with any general purpose microcontroller. Calculations should be done as quickly as possible, speed measurement error should be in bounds with allowed error. The system used for collecting data is made of two AMR type magnetic field sensors, microcontroller, which reads data from the sensors and does the processing and sends the data to the main computer. In first part of this work literature analysis is done and various methods to detect vehicle are discussed. Also various methods for classifying vehicles are discussed. Classification is done by using same data from AMR type magnetic field sensors. In second part of this work various methods are tested experimentally which allow to find delay between two signals. There is also a feasibilities discussion of applying discussed methods to signal modules and Z components. Finally, the influence of moving average to speed measurement error and feasibilities of fining down measurement results are discussed. In final part of this work tests results, which are done with „Matlab“ and real MCU are discussed. Based on results, new algorithm is proposed which allows to achieve reasonable measurement errors with lowest possible calculation time.
