Abstract [eng] |
The European Union's sustainable development goals are tied to ecological and environmental compatibility with economic development. The aim is that economic development would speed up social progress and improvement of state of the environment. Particular EU’s attention is paid to detachment of economic growth from using resources and negative impacts on environment. Electric vehicle (EM) powered only by electricity, hybrid (HEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) are taking up an increasing share of light-duty vehicles in transport sector. Current trends indicate that these vehicles can replace fossil fuel-powered internal combustion engines in the future. Advantages of electric cars are particularly relevant in urban areas, where pollution exceeds allowable pollution rate. The integration of these vehicles would reduce smog and noise from light-duty vehicles. The aim of the work is to research the development of M1 class electric and hybrid vehicle in Lithuania for a period of 10 years, considering the current Lithuanian automobile fleet and factors that affect this development, by implementing forecasting methods. |
