Abstract [eng] The doctoral dissertation analyses the enablement of the formation of industrial systems, which are based on bottom-up initiatives without external control, by adapting dynamic approach to industrial systems. Self-organisation based industrial systems (SOIS) are defined as complex adaptive systems based on various interactions inside and outside the system, which result in system’s adaptation, co-evolution, learning, viability, trust, non-linearity, responsible behaviour and identity. Enabling the formation of such systems occurs through four stages, such as emergence of non-equilibrium, strengthening of non-equilibrium, continuous two way emergence of a new order and stabilisation. An empirical research was performed by implementing a multiple case study strategy and thus analysing the formation of nine Lithuanian clusters with SOIS manifestations through the preconditions to enable the formation of SOIS, such as actors that initiate and maintain relationships; interactions and relationships between actors which form a SOIS; resources necessary for the formation of a SOIS and values and behaviour models that support self-organisation and co-operation. The results of empirical research allowed to distinguish various strategic approaches to the formation of SOIS – strategic approaches of ad hoc clustering of fellow professionals, external agent and experimentation, while strategic approaches of self-organisation, active coordination or coordinated self-organisation can be applied according to the naturalness of the formation of interactions between the actors in the system.
