| Abstract [eng] |
The main goal is to establish the effect on fatigue and recovery of involuntary and maximum voluntary isometric contraction of quadriceps muscle at different temperature. Ten physically healthy untrained males (aged 16-28) were examined in this study. Measurements of maximal voluntary and involuntary isometric muscle contraction force were made. The force of quadriceps muscle was induced by the method of electrical stimulation at frequency 50 Hz, where stimulation is 1 s, recovery - 0,4 s. These parameters were registered before and after the load (15 s, 3, 8 and 30 min). Muscle fatigue was induced by the stimulated isometric physical contraction of 50 Hz for 50 times, the angle of the knee-joint - 105 °. Muscle quadriceps was cooled in the water of 15°C degrees twice in 15 minutes with a 10-minute interval, heated at 44°C degrees for 45 minutes or was left at an usual temperature. The results have shown that irrespective of muscle temperature the muscle involuntary force decreased during fatigue more than that of maximal voluntary contraction. Quadriceps muscle's isometric contraction force did not depend on the different muscle temperature, when muscle contracted at maximaly voluntary force, but depended on the warmed-up condition of the muscles, when it contracted involuntarily in the period of peak fatigue. The recovery of the muscle depends on the warmed-up condition of the quadriceps muscle, when it contracted involuntarily. |
