Abstract [eng] Rapid and continuous electronic industry development creates higher standarts for image reproduction devices, from which cathode ray tubes (CRT) are currently most widely used, especially in reproduction of color images. Despite the intensive development of new technologies, like liquid crystal displays (LCD) and plasma displays (PDP), it is obvious that classic CRT will dominate in the market in many years to come. Due to large electron beam deflection angles δ > 45°, the application of conventional magnetic deflection systems aberrations theory to modern CRT is not accurate. Article analizes mathematical modelling aspects of modern deflection systems. Provided and substantiated the mathematical formulas required for aberrations modelling. The proposed model is based on curvilinear optical axis theory. Demonstrated that paraxial approach to deflection aberrations appears as astigmatism. Given method can be easily extended to higher level aberrations modelling.
