Abstract [eng] |
The purpose of this research was to understand how 5D BIM causes influence to projects modeling and planning stages. Proper usage of the Building Information Model BIM reduces costs and time during the planning and construction stage. To ensure that the project is profitable and the timely delivered, the precise quantities is necessary, as the planning stage depends a lot on them. The 3D model can provide accurate quantities, but for that to happen the quality of the model must be flawless. This thesis covers the analysis of 3D quantity takeoff processes and how it impacts model design. For this research 5D BIM application RIB iTWO was chosen, which currently is used by only one company in Lithuania – AB “YIT Kausta”. The research consists of the following four steps: (1) literature review, (2) processes in RIB iTWO application, (3) 3D quantity takeoff and possibilities for automatization, (4) 3D model’s optimization. The implementation of RIB iTWO application was studied and processes which must be accomplished in 3D quantity takeoff to get the accurate quantity results. The influence of quality model and the best way to determine it by using SMC application. The importance of Level Of Detail and Level Of Information and how it impacts processes of RIB iTWO application, while importing the model and calculating quantities. The ways to optimize 3D model file sizes, by removing or simplifying objects and not allowing certain attributes to be imported by making attribute exclusions. |
