Abstract [eng] The first part of the master's paper gives an overview of the experience of foreign countries in the implementation of the state zero-energy building concepts. In the review you will see the achievements and challenges of India, the United States and members of the European Union. In both cool and warm climates, the energy efficiency of buildings is sought, with only warm climate countries focusing on reducing the energy consumption of cooling. The second part discusses the methodology of calculations and research. This section reviews the multi-purpose research methods, as well as the simple addetive weight method SAW. In the final and main part of the master's paper, the main currently used thermo-isolating materials are analyzed and compared. These materials of the matched roof of residential building were compared according to selected criteria. The significance of the criteria is determined by the survey method. The survey involved construction workers or related managers, directors, lecturers and other specialists. According to the specialists, the most important indicator at present in construction is the price, and the least important of the selected is the long-term water absorption. The results are obtained using the simple additive weighing method SAW. Polystyrene foam EPS 100 NEO is best suited for the selected roof insulating material. The results and their main factors are discussed in more detail in the calculations and conclusions of this paper.
