This topic is relevant to the fact that From 2015 Lithuania became a full member of the euro area. Before the adoption of the euro, the Bank of Lithuania stated that the positive effect of the adoption of the euro would be long-term and significantly exceed the short-term costs and the amount of additional financial contributions to Lithuania. However, there is no clear agreement on when and under what conditions a country will benefit from joining the euro area. Therefore, considerations regarding the benefits and losses of the euro adoption requires further analysis, and evidence of the impact this would have on the country's economic situation. |
