Abstract [eng] Reducing nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions is becoming much more difficult and expensive for stricter environmental requirements. NOx emission restriction could not be achieved only by primary NOx reduction methods. This paper presents results of experimental research work of NOx removal by selective non-catalytic reduction (SNCR) technology. Experiments were performed in the temperature range of 1000–1200 oC to investigate the effects of additives (NH3, CH4, C2H2 and mixture of C3H8/C4H10). Comparing additives effects of NOx reduction while burning furniture production waste received that with NH3 additive reduces 56% of primary NOx. Flammable additives can reduce up to 76 % NOx emissions in exhaust gasses. Results showed that SNCR technology with flammable additives can change traditional NOx reduction additives and this technology can be easily installed in existing boilers.
