In this work, new hydrazones were synthesised from the starting hydrazide and various substituted aromatic ketones and aldehydes. The starting material 3-[(4-ethoxyphenyl)amino]propanehydrazide was synthesised in two steps from 4-ethoxyaniline and methyl acrylate by treatment of the resulting intermediate ester with hydrazine hydrate. Reactions of 3-[(4-ethoxyphenyl)amino]propanehydrazide with substituted ketones and aldehydes bearing various heterocyclic moieties and functional groups in their structure were carried out, leading to different biological activity of the obtained products. |
