Dental models are important tools for dental implantologists. Digital dental models and intra-oral scanners are new and promising technologies, that are set to soon replace physical dental model technologies. Still, the accuracy of digital dental models used in practice remains and issue. In this paper, we present a new method for in vivo dental computer model accuracy evaluation. The method is based on dental model geometrical analysis. Four geometrical parameters are measured between dental implants inside the models. The method was tested with clinically relevant data. Analysis of the data showed that the geometrical parameters were calculated with a very low standard deviation and that the parameters can be used to accurately compare dental computer models. |
