Abstract [eng] |
Seeking to expand in foreign markets, organisations have to respond quickly and flexibly to the constantly changing setting of international business while implementing radical changes. Export development is an interdisciplinary phenomenon, encompassing strategic and change management, and organisation of international business. Striving for competitiveness in foreign markets, organisations must possess knowledge on new markets, technologies, and innovations as well as be able to apply them in practice and ensure the management of associated changes occurring in the key elements – human, structural, technological and financial – of the internal system of an organisation. Object of the thesis refers to opportunities for export development. The thesis is aimed at examining the opportunities for export development in the context of changes. Seeking to attain the objective, the following goals were set: examination of the theoretical approaches to change management; disclosing export as a strategic change of operations in an organisation; construction and substantiation of theoretical approaches to change management; empirical evaluation of opportunities for export development in the context of changes. Methods of work included analysis of scientific literature and company documents, and an in-depth interview. The scientific literature analysis revealed that the overall change process is becoming a progressive attribute of strategic management ensuring the competitiveness of the organisation. The more an organisation is competitive and advanced in terms of technology, the better it is able to develop the operations on an international level. Successful strategic organisation of changes in operations proves that the organisation has found the solution to overstepping the internal and external borders and becoming a part of the global market. The research findings showed that export development as a strategic decision of the organisation requires for consistent passing through the stages of strategic management (formation of organisational strategy; formation of change strategy; search for options for export development) and change management (initiation of changes; field for implementation of changes; improved operations of the organisation), with its outcome being the transformation of the organisation – improved operations that open the opportunities for implementing a strategic change – export development in foreign markets. |
