Abstract [eng] Arteriosclerosis chronic, systemic, inflammatory disease of the coronary, carotid and peripheral arteries, and the aorta. Arteriosclerosis reveals only at the beginning of the complications: constricted artery lumen and (or) its thrombosis, enlarged and thinner artery wall (aneurysm). Nonetheless, it has been proved than significant changes of the mechanical properties of the arterial wall are present much earlier than the anatomical changes appear. The aim of this work is to evaluate longitudinal and radial movements of common carotid artery from registered radiofrequency (RF) signals.
