Abstract [eng] |
The polyelectrolyte complex formation between cationically modified hydroxyethyl starch and caffeic acid was investigated. At certain polycation and polyanion molar ratios stable aqueous particle dispersion was obtained. Zeta potential, particle size and scanning electron microscopy measurements revealed the formation of positively charged submicron – sized particles. The antioxidant effect of cationically modified hydroxyethyl starch and caffeic acid complexes was similar compared to that of caffeic acid. |
