Abstract [eng] |
To analyze the correlation between employee commitment towards the organization and transformational leadership. Employees from five companies operating in the retail sector and undergoing certain organizational changes have been interviewed during the analysis. The sample size of respondents is 382 employed persons from different organizations. The following questionnaires were used in the analysis: “Organisation commitment questionnaire” and a newly structured “Transformational leadership questionnaire”. In accordance with data of theoretical and empirical analysis, a conclusion is drawn that employees, who think that their leaders possess transformational leadership behavior (idealized influence, inspirational motivation, individual attention, intellectual encouragement) are likely to commit more to their organization emotionally, normatively and continuously. Followers, who subjectively rate their leaders and transformational, feel more emotionally empowered and are more committed towards their organization. It was revealed that men’s and women’s subjective leader rating as possessing transformational leadership behavior is different. In comparison to men, women consider their leaders as possessing transformational leadership behavior more often. |
