Abstract [eng] |
Wood is a sustainable and environmentally friendly natural material widely used for interior and exterior purposes. Outdoor wood should be protected as it is very sensitive to weathering factors such as humidity, sunlight, wind, bio-organisms. There are a lot of durable exterior coatings for wood but they are opaque and masks a wood colour and texture in that way are more widely used clear coating system. Mostly exterior wood coatings are solvent-based wood coatings are being replaced by waterborne (WB) coatings. WB coatings can significantly reduce the emission of VOC from coatings, improving air quality and reducing health risks Solvent borne clear coating. Because of clear WB coating short-term protection, coatings are improved with organic, inorganic UV absorber and light stabilizers. The aim of this reserach is to improve and evaluate a clear waterborne acrylic (AK) wood coating durability using ZnO, CeO2 nanoparticles and an organic UV absorber with a hindered amine light stabilizer compound. |
