Abstract [eng] |
These days technological development encourages businesses to constantly invest and innovate its daily production, delivery and other business processes. Process modernization, improvement helps to flexibly respond to customer needs and produce products efficiently, effectively and economically. With the coming new era of production and supply, be successful only flexible, networked businesses, which are also skilfully, use information and analytics, as well as workers' talents and machine work to deliver products and services to various international markets. However, only be investing in innovations and applying the latest technologies in the enterprise, the company itself, not increase its value or improve efficiency. Each process improvement must be evaluated to determine what the actual benefits company will receive from the innovation and process automation. What are the best indicators of performance measurement to show how efficiently business performs through innovation and how it will affect the entire performance measurement system? The paper presents a literature review and results of the case study, challenges for PMS in the context of Industry 4. The main focus of this paper is to highlight the scientific literature of performance measurement by providing empirical evidence to better understand challenges and opportunities for performance measurement systems in the context of Industry 4 and technological innovations in it. Object: Performance measurement system. Goal: Determine how technological innovations will affect the organization's processes and developments as they affect the performance evaluation system with its functions, indicators, methods. Is to highlight the impact of innovations/technology (according to contingency theory) on company performance measurement systems (PMS), throughout PMS methods and functions that are analysed using qualitative research method - case study with multiple sources of evidence from semi-structured interviews and documents analysis (strategic planning reports). Results: 1. Scientific papers analysis justifies that Industry 4.0 technological innovations have an impact on organization processes and performance measurement system. Also these findings highlight, that this field of performance measurement need more researches and investigations; 2. Qualitative research results show that performance measurement system has to be adopted in the context of Industry 4.0.This is necessary if the organization wants to maintain performance measurement system effectively for decision making process while performance measurement functions and their content are changing. Qualitative research results allows to make a conclusion that Industry 4.0 and their innovations: digitalization; “Big Data”; Internet of things (IoT), “clouds” technologies; human-machine interaction; robotics, are forming organizational processes and make a framework to change and transform performance measurement system. Research results also show that Industry 4.0 mostly affects these performance measurement functions: planning and measurement. 3. Based on conducted research results it can be said that in the nearly future for organisation it will be very important to ensure that due to technological innovations created new processes, tools and measurement system changes will be adapted to the needs of the organization and their already existing processes and tools. New innovative processes and integrated performance models should be flexible and easily changed, depending on business and organizational needs. Also due to technological innovations will be applied many new automotive tolls and system changes which will foster organization employees to learn and use them. 4. Literature review and qualitative research contribute to the existing literature of the performance measurement field in a few aspects: scientific contribution identified possible performance measurement system changes of the content of Industry 4.0 technological revolution. Practical contribution, qualitative research results can be beneficial to organization’s representatives who analysing and developing performance measurement process. It can help to understand performance measurement future trends and get all necessary and valuable information for decision making, performance planning, measurement and controlling. |
