Relevance of the issue. Every country is interested in to achieve well-developed and well-balanced economics. International economic relations account for an important share of the country’s economic structure. They largely determine economy proportions and the possibilities for their improvement, rational consumption of the country’s resources, and well-being of the country’s population. Export - as the engine of the Lithuanian economic growth – one of the most important factors defining the Lithuanian economic grow and widely used by the economists. It is the least risky form of the international business, having a significant impact on the economic growth, especially in countries with small domestic markets. Export is beneficial for all countries. Export accounts for creation of added value, new jobs both for the exporters and for their suppliers. To achieve further economic growth, export must be effective. Lithuanian furniture industry is among the most successful and promising industries in Lithuania from the point of view of the industry development and added value. Export of the furniture industry continues to grow annually making furniture one of the largest export groups In Lithuania following the sector of mineral products. Growing export volumes result in better competitiveness of the country on the global markets. It also stimulates development of manufacturing, creation of new jobs, effective attraction of direct foreign investments and the local population can have access to the necessary products. Therefore, export development and its impact are very important for the economic growth of the country. Thus, the main issue of this thesis is to define the impact of the development of the Lithuanian furniture industry export on the economy. Subject matter of the thesis - export of the Lithuanian furniture industry. Goal of the research - assessment of the impact of the development of the Lithuanian furniture industry export on the economy. Tasks of the research: 1. To analyse how much important is to assess the impact of the development of the Lithuanian furniture industry export on the economy; 2. To analyse theoretical solutions of the impact of export on the economy; 3. To develop the methods for research of the impact of the development of the Lithuanian furniture industry export on the economy; 4. To assess the impact of the development of the Lithuanian furniture industry export on the economy. Key results of the thesis. Having analysed the impact of the development of the Lithuanian furniture industry export on the economy, we can make a conclusion that the furniture industry export has a positive impact on the economic growth of the country. However, this sector still encounters specific problems preventing from further successful development of the business. Such problems include lack of raw materials and clear dependence on a huge local partner “IKEA”. These problems have to be solved to promote further development of export and to expedite economic growth of the country. |
