Abstract [eng] |
Amaranth plant anatomical parts contain valuable functional components as squalene, tocopherols, rutin and others. The aim of this research was to create exhaustive and effective extraction and fractionation process of anatomical parts and bioactive compounds of amaranth grown in Lithuania, applying high pressure extraction methods and rational raw material processing in order to obtain high value and different composition functional components. Results showed that innovative processing of raw plant material may be used to produce high value functional food, cosmetic or pharmaceutical components. Applying high pressure extraction and fractionation methods possible to obtain high-added value fractions enriched with higher amount of squalene or tocopherols, also fractions enriched with higher amount of proteins and polyphenols. |
