Abstract [eng] |
In many cases business processes are not effectively realized in organizations information systems. For this reason, the activity changes in the rapidly changing environment causes considerable need of changes for time consuming and cost terms. In order to create a flexible IS and thus avoid these problems, it is being proposed to use business rules-based IS development methodologies. Although this theme is often discussed in the literature, however, systems analysts and designers are constantly confronted with problems concerning the lack of practical methods about business rules separation. Based on business rules and business processes separation principles, methodology about business rules and processes representation and realization of the decision tables was created. This methodology includes: • business processes modelling, enabling the separation between declarative and operational procedural business logic; • transfer declarative business rules (shown in UML activity diagrams) to hierarchical decision tables; • realization of hierarchical decision tables in databases. Methodology was tested creating tranport insurance information system prototype. This showed that the decision is suitable for various areas, because it is not being restricted by the number of conditions and actions and depth of the tables hierarchy. |
