The main goal of this work was to analyse the video conference integration capability in a virtual learning environment, to make a research based on functional aspects of concurrent systems and to integrate video conference in a virtual learning environment – new integrated system should improve distance learning process in VU KHF distance learning activities. Acquiring the main goal it was needed to find the most functionally suitable virtual learning environment and integrate multi-point video conference system for it. The decision was to use open source virtual learning environment, as it was the best practical decision for further system developing and implementations. Therefore the “Moodle” virtual learning environment was chosen. “Red5” open source Flash technology stream server came as a solution for video conference usage. The prototype tool was created. The system was implemented using PHP, JavaScript and Flash Action Script 2.0 programming languages, My SQL database, HTML was used for implementation of user interface. |
