Abstract [eng] An aging workforce and the ability to maintain their productiveness at the age of 60, 70 or even 80 years is one of the largest concerns of employers. In order to ensure greater participation of older workers in the labour market, to increase their efficiency and productivity innovative solutions are necessary. For this reason, workplace innovation is particularly relevant to the topic. There is a lack of theoretical studies and empirical studies consistently explaining the concept and importance of workplace innovation. Also, there is a lack of studies assessing the relationship between workplace innovation and employees efficiency. So problematic question is formulated: what kind of workplace innovation are possible or needed that aging workers could remain employable and able to work productively? Research object - workplace innovation. The aim - to explore the needs and opportunities of aging employees workplace innovations in Alytus city municipality. Research methods - literature analysis and synthesis; statistical data analysis, quantitative research method using a standardized questionnaire; correlation analysis; regression analysis; graphic depiction. The Master's thesis consists of three main parts. The first part analyzes the relevance of the topic, justifies the importance and benefits of workplace innovations, identifies problematic aspect of the topic. The second part provides he concept of aging worker, analyzes workplace innovation concept and innovative workplace solutions in the context of an aging workforce. Finally, theoretical model of workplace innovation is made and three hypotheses are formulated. In the third part an empirical study of municipal employees is made seeking to explore the need of workplace innovation, to measure three dimensions of workplace innovation dimension. Also, the relationship between workplace innovations and employees efficiency is explored and hypotheses confirmed and denied. In the end of the summary findings, recommendations and the references are provided.
