Abstract [eng] The aim of the master's final project – investigate the impact of integrating new link into the Kaunas city street network efficiency. The object of research is chosen Kėdainiu str. bridge who is connecting Užnemunes str. and Brastos str. In this project realized research tasks: reviewing traffic organization and management aspects, analysing traffic intensity in the investigated segment of Kaunas city street network without the Kėdainių Street bridge, was made traffic flow investigation in the area under investigation (Raudondvario Street, Jurbarko Street, P. Vileišis Bridge, Šv. Gertrūdos Street, Birštono Street, Karaliaus Mindaugo Avenue, Vytautas Didysis Bridge, Užnemunės Street, Veiverių Street, H. and O. Minkovskiai Streets), analyzted scenarios of integrated new link and traffic organization/management scenarios, using PTV Vissim software was made traffic flow modeling in the new junction. In the traffic flow modeling output, the connection of Kėdainių Street bridge with the two-level intersection of Užnemunės Street was evaluated as more effective and ensuring traffic safety, as well as minimizing delay in crossing the intersection, compared to a turbo roundabout solution. The rationale for this integration scenario is based on modeling under defined and projected traffic flows, using criteria such as average time to traverse the route, overall average traffic speed, lengths of resulting congestion, average delays at intersection approaches, and level of service (LOS) at intersections.
