Abstract [eng] |
Relevance of the subject. Organisations and their managers are facing managing different generations of employees, starting from traditionalists to the new Generation Z. Managing different generations of employees frequently presents challenges for managers in how to communicate effectively with them, as generations of employees are born in different periods and experience different historical, cultural and technological events that shape the generational characteristics, values and communication characteristics that managers have to deal with. Generational differences in communication can be a challenge for managers, for effective work, for cooperation and there is a risk of miscommunication and ambiguity. Therefore, it is important for managers to understand and evaluate what communication factors can ensure effective communication with intergenerational employees in order to achieve team and organisational goals. There is an increasing number of studies on the communication differences and characteristics between generations. Research shows that there are intergenerational conflicts and misunderstandings in the work environment, one of the reasons - differences in communication. It is noted that the literature analyses the characteristics of intergenerational communication, which includes methods, channels, tools, feedback and the use of technology. |
