Abstract [eng] Contemporary modern information communication technology contributes to implement availability and accessibility of continuous learning, and effective use of technology creates the presumptions for e-learning. E-learning is implementing by using various tools. But the main tool that is used in educational institution is virtual learning environment. The action takes place in a network environment: the teacher provides learning material for the students, and connection between them is supported by channels such e-mail or discussion. In order to select one of many learning environments, it is needed to know certain criteria that should be distinguished by every institution, according its needs and possibilities. The main aim of this paper is research of collaboration learning environment Sakai in order to evaluate if environment Sakai could be an alternative to virtual learning environment Moodle. The paper represents the comparative analysis of these two environments.
