It is often believed in organisations that the quality management system implementation is useful to them only for issuing the certificate. Such an approach is common even among the company executives whereas they assume introduction of the system as the reached goal rather than the measure that may help to gain some knowledge or achieve good changes. Another barrier to successful quality management system development is disengagement of the employees. It often appears that having introduced the system, organizations after some time return to the old routine, and all the work that was done for the company certification becomes neglected as employees are not motivated to foster the system. For this reason, the aim of the study is to reveal the employee involvement practices in ISO quality management system development. Analysis of research literature gives basis to determine factors that have the greatest impact on the promotion of employee participation in the quality management system. The first factor is encouragement of interaction and communication, employee involvement and empowerment in the company's joint decision-making, responsibility allocation, and partnership. The most important factor of communication is participation of manager as the leader. Another factor is continuous learning and development opportunity, as well as employee participation in training, performance analysis, methods of internal and external learning. And one more factor is motivation, which may be tangible, such as additional payment, bonuses, and intangible, such as incentives, rewards, and constant attention. Taking into account the main factors reviewed in literature that affect the overall employee involvement in the quality management system, the strategy of employee involvement in the quality management system was developed. Implementing the survey-based methodology, the qualitative survey was carried out in the company MaistasX UAB Applying mathematical, and statistical data processing methods, selected statements of the respondents regarding employee involvement in the quality management system were analysed. The survey revealed factors that were very important in the empowering of employees, however, in the Company they were weak or did not show at all. To mention a few, it was a personal responsibility, informing, training and consultations, confidence promotion, and motivation tools. On the basis of survey data, also analysis was carried out regarding the named four main employee motivation tools that were most influential to them, namely, the fact of being praised by a manager or employer in the presence of others, attention of the manager and positive assessment of the work, the possibility to successfully carry out work, and monetary reward.
