Abstract [eng] |
It is important to reach the best quality and usability for every information system. The investigation of usability should show users satisfaction, indicate system blind-spots and help to improve the system. Another way to achieve the better quality of information system is to apply the high-quality process for its development. The quality of the development process does not directly decide the quality of the information system; however, there is the greater probability that a system developed using better process has the higher quality. Consequently, the evaluation of this process should be done by experts very carefully and continually, and it should lead to improvement of this process. These principles were applied for creation of an information system for monitoring of soldier physical abilities. The analysis of existing information systems demonstrated that such software is not available, so the decision to create a model for such a system was made. In many aspects the implemented system is a usual Web system for capturing and representing soldier physical training results. But there is some new and not ordinal in this system in comparison with other systems – its charts and diagrams represent soldiers training results visually and effectively because the system was created for usability and the qualified development process was applied. There were two questionnaires – one for the system usability and another for the software process quality evaluation. Results of these questionnaires have confirmed that the system is usable and the quality of development process is high. |
