| Abstract [eng] |
The importance of ethical leadership began to be emphasized in the 21st century when the world was shaken by corruption scandals not only in business organizations but also in sports, government, religious, and non-profit communities. As the reputation of organizations declined due to the crisis, it led to a lack of trust among customers and dissatisfaction among employees. This prompted specialists in various fields to actively engage with ethical and moral issues. Ethical leadership became not only a reaction to the crisis but also a necessary condition for the long-term and successful leadership of organizations. It is particularly important to highlight the significance of ethical leadership in the education sector. Employee satisfaction in the field of education directly contributes to one of the most important goals – creating a favorable educational environment that has a positive impact on the development and growth of all education participants. This is crucial for improving the performance and results of the education system. To evaluate the impact of ethical leadership on employee satisfaction in vocational training institutions, four research objectives were set: 1) Conceptually justify the impact of ethical leadership on employee satisfaction in organizations. 2) Systematize information on leadership trends and employee satisfaction in Lithuanian educational institutions. 3)Empirically assess the impact of ethical leadership on employee satisfaction in state vocational training institutions. Scientific literature, legal acts, information documents, and strategic document analysis methods were applied in the research. A quantitative research method was used to assess the impact of ethical leadership on employee satisfaction in state vocational training institutions. In the first part, after conducting a conceptual analysis of the relationship between ethical leadership and employee satisfaction, it was determined that ethical leadership is a multi-component concept that positively affects all components of job satisfaction, such as leadership, relationships with colleagues, workplace relationships, job nature, recognition (evaluation), promotion opportunities, work organization, privileges, and salary. The second part examined trends in leadership and employee satisfaction in Lithuanian educational institutions based on the laws and orders of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports, as well as data from the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) TALIS survey and the statistics department. In the third part, after conducting research on the impact of ethical leadership on employee satisfaction in state vocational training institutions, it was found that employees consider the organization's leader as an example of ethical behavior, and ethical leadership positively affects employee job satisfaction. The Master's thesis project consists of an academic honesty declaration, abstracts in Lithuanian and English, table of contents, introduction, theoretical and research parts, conclusions, recommendations, bibliography, and appendices. The project utilizes 104 scientific sources, 8 informational sources, includes 15 tables, 23 figures, and 4 appendices. |
