Abstract [eng] This paper presents a literature review of the principles, properties, design features and applications of metamaterials in various fields. A mathematical model is constructed, which is used to simulate individual resonators, investigating the dependence of their parameters on their orientation with respect to the EM wave and their position relative to each other. The modelling of a non-reflecting surface leads to the creation of an annular structure within which an object can be placed, thus enabling the performance of the structure to be assessed. Once the structure is constructed, measurements of the spatial distribution of the waves are made to investigate the effectiveness of the meta-structure in not reflecting EM waves.
