Abstract [eng] The share of renewable energy generation in Europe's energy mix has been increasing recently. Countries are being encouraged to expand their district heating and cooling networks and to install modern and climate-neutral energy conversion plants, thus moving towards the 4th generation of CHP (4G). This work is a feasibility study for the modernisation of the Raseiniai town boiler house of UAB "Raseinių šilumos tinklai". A literature review of the CHP sector and its modernisation measures is carried out and the current situation of the boiler house is analysed. Four possible options for technological solutions are selected: the installation of a heat storage tank, the installation of solar collectors with a heat storage tank, the installation of a photovoltaic solar power plant and the application of an ORC turbine in the boiler house. "EnergyPRO“ software is used to simulate the above options and evaluate the data obtained. An economic analysis of the projects and an environmental assessment are carried out.
