| Abstract [eng] |
Continuous transformations and the development of information and communication technologies that reinforce them are disrupting established norms, rules, and practices. The economy is becoming more focused on innovation and competitiveness. The changes brought about by technology are both an opportunity and a challenge for organisations. The main obstacle to fully exploiting the growth potential of new technologies is the lack of cross-cutting skills, including innovation and entrepreneurship competences. When setting a strategic direction for innovation, organisations are forced to invest in human capital. There is a consensus on what competences are important in the 21st century, but no consensus on how these competences can best be acquired. The application of different STEAM methods in education is found to have an impact on the development of innovation and entrepreneurship competences in young people. However, today's education system does not meet the need for competences in organisations. Researchers are exploring STEAM methods for the development of innovation and entrepreneurship competences and the prerequisites for their application in education, but research on how to apply these methods directly in an innovative organisation is scarce. The object of the research is the application of STEAM methods for the development of innovation and entrepreneurship competences. The aim – to justify the model of application of STEAM methods for the development of innovation and entrepreneurship competences in an innovative organisation. In order to realize the aim of the work, the following tasks were set: 1) to reveal the problems of the need for development of innovation and entrepreneurship competences in an innovative organization; 2) to theoretically justify the prerequisites for the application of STEAM methods for the development of competences in an innovative organization; 3) to justify the methodology of the empirical research and, on the basis of it, to determine the prerequisites for the application of STEAM methods for the development of innovation and entrepreneurship competences in an innovative organization; 4) to provide recommendations for the application of STEAM methods for the development of innovation and entrepreneurship competences in an innovative organization. The semi-structured interview method was used for the research (data collection). A qualitative analysis of the data was carried out. STEAM can be defined as a modern education system focused on 21st century competences needed to innovate and develop. In a period of transformation, the competitive advantage and long-term success of innovative organizations depends on continuous innovation. Innovative ideas require innovation and entrepreneurship competences. Both IT-based and non-IT-based STEAM methods have been identified as contributing to the development of these competences in young people. It was found that non-traditional innovative spaces, information and communication technologies, an educational supervisor (mentor), an environment based on choice, openness, cooperation, tolerance for failure, anti-disciplinary thinking and socialisation are important for the application of STEAM methods in education. In addition, various crisis situations or challenges can be a catalyst for creativity. It was found that in order to apply STEAM methods for the development of innovation and entrepreneurship competences in an innovative organisation, the following prerequisites are important: crisis situations and challenges, the existence of an evaluation system, creative innovative spaces, competence in the application of STEAM methods, the purpose and vision of the application, the openness of the environment, the internal communication of the meaning of the application, the right leader of the training process and the effective organisation of the processes. It was identified that the most appropriate methods for an innovative organisation are those that achieve the desired results. In addition, the performing and visual arts can be effective and useful. STEAM methods could be used in an innovative organisation for the following purposes: to generate new solutions, to improve in the workplace, to present the organisation, to work in a team, to think out of the box and innovatively and to relax. Based on these results, recommendations for the application of STEAM methods in an innovative organisation are formulated. |
