Abstract [eng] |
There are four different generations working in the current Lithuanian labor market. This is one of the reasons why it is more and more evident that all those four generations (Baby boomers, X, Y and Z generations) have a different attitude towards work and what motivates them at work and in their personal life. New generations entering the labor market have different values and are more likely to changing jobs in search of the option that suits them. Applying coaching methodology in companies can be one of the ways to improve microclimate and reduce turnover. Properly applied coaching can improve the quality of services provided, employee motivation, professionalism and discipline in performing assigned tasks. Also, with the help of coaching methodology, managers and human resource specialists can get to know employees better and react in time when needed. Based on the flexibility of coaching and the characteristics of different generations, it is possible to respond more effectively to the needs of employees and the company. Examining conducted researches, it was not possible to find any studies that examined the application of coaching to employees of different generations. These two areas – coaching methodology and generational differences – are usually examined separately with no opportunity for interaction between these topics. |
