Abstract [eng] |
Thermo-responsive polymers are considered to be a “smart” class of materials that can be used in tissue engineering, wound dressings and drug delivery systems. Polysaccharides such as chitosan represent an ideal matrix for preparing of biocompatible copolymers with improved biodegradability properties compared to those of synthetic thermoresponsive materials. Furthermore, chitosan is highly appreciated for the production of multi-response copolymers due to high reactivity of functional groups and pH-responsivity [1, 2]. The aim of this work was to obtain chitosan-graft-poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) copolymers using different molar ratios of medium molecular weight chitosan (CH) and N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAA), and investigate thermoresponsive properties of prepared copolymers in aqueous medium. The synthesis of copolymers was carried out in aqueous solution using potassium persulfate (PPS) as an initiator (Fig.1). [...]. |
