Abstract [eng] Chemical industry is one of the most pollution generating and resource intensive economic sector branches both in Lithuania and worldwide. One of the most significant aims of the chemical industry economic sector is to contribute to sustainable consumption of natural resources by applying economically beneficial methods to pursue the reduction of the negative impact on the environment. To reach these aims, first of all, it is necessary to analyze in details the processes taking place in this economic sector, used materials, raw materials, to optimize production, to control and reduce the use of natural resources and raw materials, energy expenditure, to avoid side products and wastes. The main aim of Master‘s degree graduation paper is to analyze and evaluate the resource efficiency and pollution reduction possibilities in chemical fiber production, applying the integrated methods of cleaner production and life cycle assessment.
