Abstract [eng] |
Lithuania is trying to increase energy production from renewable energy sources. Biomass takes first place in Lithuania's efforts to increase energy production from renewable energy sources, especially solid fuel. The paper provides an overview of the current situation in Lithuania, foreign experience, potential, and sustainable development in this kind of energy production. The survey is about company activity, which produces biofuel in Kaunas county. Calculating does the renewable source – biofuel is truly \"green\" for environment as the previous studies, claiming that burning biomass release the same ammounts of greenhouse gas emissions to an atmopshere that are absorbed while plants grow. As a result, it is forget how much energy is used in biofuel processing and transportation, even more biofuel from forest residues, which processing costs are more complex and less energy is obtained by burning. Conducted of scientific literature, legal documents, statistical analysis, applied cleaner production, a qualitative assessment of the environmental impact of emissions from mobile sources of pollution methods. It is estimated the environmental pollution from the production of biofuels from firewood, forest residues. It is proposed to improve the company's performance. Considered about forest residues in biofuel production positive and negative aspects. Review of all came to the conclusion that in order to have a minimal impact on the environment and to operate profitably, the production of biofuels from forest residues, must be well-balanced and organized, perhaps even additionally supported or revised about using forest residues for energy in Lithuania. |
