Abstract [eng] |
This master paper analyzes the problem of waste collection. The collection of waste and recyclables has been done by waste collection companies using fixed schedules where containers are collected every day or every week, regardless if they are full or not. Fuel and time are wasted and environment more polluted, because when the car begins to move out of a place, the air is polluted 50 times greater compared to the car that is driving fast or medium speed. The country has no accurate and reliable waste holders and waste accounting; it is a lack of waste management system control. The aim of this paper is to create a smart waste collection system in order to solve the problem of inefficient collection of containers, to ensure ongoing data analysis and evaluate new model by environmental, economic and social aspects. Smart waste collection system is evaluated using the methodology of environmental systems theory. Two alternatives are proposed: to create a sensor network and/or develop a mobile application. The study uses data collected from JSC “Ekonovus” and calculations are made for Ringaudai route. There have been calculated emissions from transport, costs of innovation calculation and social evaluation has been performed at the research. The study analyzes the environmental, economic and social benefits. It is calculated that measurement of the fill-level of waste containers can help to reduce 24% of road emissions. New system can provide up to 35,22 Eur cost savings in waste logistics and increase customer confidence and satisfaction of the waste disposal company work. |
