Abstract [eng] |
Critical materials (CMs) – the raw materials, which are of huge importance for increasing the supply risk the next several decades. Critical materials reliable and unhindered access are of increasing concern in the EU and around the world. The European Union's economic development is closely related to the critical materials use of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE). CMs importance will increase in the future, due to the rapid introduction of new technologies: the touch screen technology, flat screen televisions, low – carbon energy technologies, renewable energy equipment and ect. For sustainable resources necessary to reduce the use of primary raw materials – by increasing resource efficiency and promoting recycling. The second use of the CMs could contribute to the development of circular economy model, which is based on the principle that the materials and products are reused and recycled. The recovery of CMs is based on the pre – treatment technologies. The aim of the research is to evaluate the recovery potencial of CMs from the electrical and electronic equipment waste (WEEE) pre – treatment technologies and determine how the pre – treatment technologies further influenced by the recovery of CMs processes and efficient. The object is electrical and electronic equipment waste flows in Lithuania, Germany and the UAB “EMP recycling” company as sources the recovery of CMs. |
