The purpose of this research is to evaluate biodegradable polymer films and their application for the making of packaging, based on experience of label and packaging making company Aurika. Therefore in this work all the literature that was analysed was based on biodegradable thin films for food packaging, which was then compared with the data found in literature of none-biodegradable polymers. Also this thesis includes a design for manufacturing line, quality control methods, safety requirements and occupational risk assessment. In the last part of this work the above mentioned company's activities, such as the installation of new process management system, are described. Based on financial - economic calculations the cost of the production, its payback and other economical indicators were calculated and evaluated. At the end of this project there are conclusions and suggestions for a fully functioning process for manufacturing biodegradable thin films. |
